Our Process

  • First up, there’s an initial discovery session with our Mitel technical sales and engineering team to understand your current systems and infrastructure, as well as exploring your deployment and commercial preferences (Cloud or Hybrid deployment and CAPEX/OPEX mix).
  • Next, we’ll discuss any requirements that you’ve already identified from a new solution as well as suggesting new capabilities you may not yet have considered.
  • We’ll then start to delve much deeper into your deployment options (Private Cloud, UCaaS, On-Premise or Hybrid) and requirement specification.
  • The next step is to start demonstrating possible solutions, highlighting features and functionality that cater to your business needs and workflows.  This may require other stakeholders and colleagues from your business so that we can make sure that we understand things from their point of view too!
  • If you’d like to de-risk the project then perhaps a proof of concept or trial deployment (if required) to ensure compatibility with your other business systems.
  • Once you’re happy with all that we’ve proposed and signed on the dotted line, we’ll get to work with your experienced Project Team who work with you on a technical plan for a seamless deployment.
  • Your Project Team will start work on the various elements of the solution from cloud infrastructure, phone number porting, connectivity provisioning and call routing plans right through to end-user training and handover to our support team.
  • Once you’re live on your new systems you will benefit from ongoing dedicated support to maintain and upgrade (when required) your systems, leaving you free to get on with doing business.
  • Going forward, you will always benefit from a dedicated, named and field-based Account Manager.

Mitel MiVoice Connect

MiVoice Connect is an easy to use and easy to manage UC system available on-premise, hosted in private or public clouds, or a hybrid of the two.

Deployment Options

Private Cloud

A private cloud telephony or UC solution resides on company’s internal network or in Blackstar’s hosted data centre where your system is protected behind a firewall and running on dedicated infrastructure. This can be a great option for companies who already have data centres on-site or perhaps have infrastructure as a service off-site because they can use their current infrastructure and connectivity. Private cloud offers an increased level of security and control and they share very few, if any, resources with other organizations.

Public Cloud

For Public Cloud read ‘multi-tenanted cloud’, meaning that your system runs on the same infrastructure as many other customers. The main differentiator between public and private cloud is that you aren’t responsible for any of the management of a public cloud telephony or UC solution. Your system resides in the provider’s data centres on shared infrastructure and the provider is responsible for the management and maintenance of the data centre. Public cloud provides simplicity, scale and savings.

On Premise or Hybrid

An on-premise deployment is still a popular option with many clients, especially in certain sectors where there is a high density of phones, often for health and safety reasons, but little by way of call traffic (think schools, colleges, hospitals, stadia and so on).  Nowadays most on-premise deployments are virtualised, allowing customers to use their own virtual server infrastructure and provide highly available, resilient systems.  If you prefer, some elements of the system can be virtualised and taken to the cloud, whilst keeping some hardware on-site for various reasons (analogue connectivity, ISDN etc). This hybrid model allows for a gradual migration to the cloud and massively improved DR for the system, the best of both worlds!
